This often leads to mood swings, which can lead to some less than charming behavior.
I've definitely learned this the hard way on a few. One moment I was beaming about discovering a local delicacy, and the next I was snapping at my travel companions because I hadn't eaten in hours. It's not exactly a behavior I'm proud of, but it just goes to show that even the most outgoing traveler can turn into a ravenous monster when they're hungry.
So, if you ever find yourself abroad and starting to feel cranky, my advice is to fuel up. It might be the difference between having a memorable trip and one that ends with some embarrassing moments.
